Our Cashmere Region

The Central Borders Region of Scotland is synonymous with manufacturing excellence. Textiles, especially 'High End' Cashmere has been our pride for generations. Many discerning Cashmere customers will be looking for product of Scottish Borders origin.

The Centeral Borders Region, situated in the South of Scotland is an area of small towns and villages, populated by hard working industrious Scots.
The countryside surrounding these towns and villages is hilly and in places thickly forrested, intersected by rivers which are stocked with trout.
During early spring and early autum stocked with freshly run salmon from the north sea.
Many of the rivers in the towns were channeled to drive the Tweed cloth and Knitwear mills which were built along the banks.
The town of Hawick with the largest population, and therefore the more knitwear mills had at one stage the highest export earnings per capita of the united kingdom
The visitors to hawick, during a visit to a cashmere mill, will dscover in many mills a grandmother, mother and daughter working in the same place and in some mills on the same worktable.
